KPS Progress School KPS Progress School assists students experiencing difficulty succeeding in the traditional classroom.

MISSION
The mission of the Progress School is to provide a safe, caring, structured, educational environment where students can learn the academic and social skills necessary to re-enter the ir regular educational system prepared to participate in the continuation of their education.

Belief Statement
All students can be contributing members of society.
All students need a safe, structured environment.
All students need adult advocates.
All students need to believe that they can make a difference.
All students need to have a sense of belonging.
All students need to believe that education is relevant in their lives.
All students need to know appropriate social skills.

Entrance Requirements
Students are admitted to the Progress School only upon the recommendation of the guidance counselor, administration, parents, and teachers. This may be due to the following circumstances: Suspension, Failure to earn credit, Transition from another facility. Chronic Illness, Late Enrollment, Other Extenuating Circumstances, (AEP) Alternative Education Plan. All students enrolling in the Progress School will receive an Alternative Education Plan (AEP) to follow while they attend. The AEP is established by the student, parent/guardian, counselors, and other education professionals. Students are required to participate in planning their own academic success.

Student Responsibilities(while in Progress School)
Follow the Alternative Education Plan (AEP).
Maintain good attendance and promptness habits.
Follow school rules, rights, and responsibilities as outlined in the handbook.
Consistently demonstrate good social skills.
Work at his/her ability level each day.
Acknowledge areas of need.
Set goals for improvement and completion of credits.
Assume they will need to make up time on days following absences or tardies.
